Elemental Images
by Rosa Davis

Sources of Inspiration

I have always drawn inspiration from the countryside, from the colours shapes and textures of the natural world. From the 'faces' in rocks and trees. I love ancient trees, lichen and moss, and wild flowers. I have also been led by my own inner journey, which has drawn me to Pagan imagery and to Druid and Shamanistic practice, and a reverence for the Goddess. The images I make express archetypes of the human psyche, the elemental world of the imagination.

I have studied depth psychology, mythology, astrology, Indian and Tibetan philosophy and Driud practice with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. I have practiced meditation for thirty years.

I love the work of Cecil Collins, William Blake, Winifred Nicolson, Louise Bourgeois and Ana Maria Pacheco. I am also very inspired by the art work of indigenous peoples, and religious imagery.
