Most of the masks are made from pulped cardboard with no glue added. It has to be molded when very wet. I love the resulting texture. The figures are made in 'Art Mache', a commercially made paper mache that is very like clay when mixed with water. They are molded over a wire armature. Many of the pieces include silk paper. This is made from silk fibres and a bonding medium. Some are decorated with semi precious stones.

The applique pictures are made from silk which is strengthened with iron on vilene before being stitched into place using machine embroidery.
